Miss Agnes Pastprime
the artist
Miss Agnes (as she prefers to be called) is a 72-year-old woman who
spent her life travelling the world for various governments trying to
promote peace. After her retirement she decided to do the one thing
she had always loved -- painting. She has no family and no real
friends to speak of other than diplomatic acquaintances.
the art
Miss Agnes still travels the globe but not instead of attending
diplomatic conventions she paints the things she has marveled at for
half a century. She makes her own pigments from natural materials such
as tree bark, dirt, grasses, and whatever else she can find.
the beret
Miss Agnes' wears a forest green felt beret she got from a small
shop on the French Riviera in the 1930s. She had packed the hat away
decades ago and got it out of storage when she started painting as a
symbol of herself as an artist.
