Holy Paving Crew
the artist
I envisage my artist as being not an individual, but a
collective, a group of artists.Our materials shall be asphalt,
heavy plant andpowerful high explosives. I suppose you could
call it sculpture. Even though our budget is unlimited,
we will somehow manage to overspend it.
the art
A giant black sphere, 24,000 miles in circumference, describing an
orbit 93 million miles from the sun, lying in between the planets
Venus and Mars. The exterior of the sphere is populated by performance
artists in high speed vehicles of extravagant design. The interior is
populated by teams of willing volunteers who support the endeavours of
the conceptualists on the outside.
the beret
Our berets will be yellow, hard, and hemispherical with ridges running
in parallel across the top. The front will emblazoned with a simple
red andwhite design, reading "Holy Paving Crew Member". Below that our
personal names will be embossed in blue Dymo (TM) tape. The artists are
gratefulto their hats, because not only does it protect them from heavy
falling things which would otherwise dash their brains from their heads,
but it keeps their hair dry too.
