She started out as a poet who published her first book : "Typewriter Music" in the mid 70s. (self financed)

Typewriter Music consisted of rhythmical sequences of punctuation and alphanumeric characters. Consider the poem "Colon Storms in the Space Sea"

In the 80s, she wrote absurdist business plans for non-existant companies and played around with spell-checkers on her word processor.

Now she has discovered the net, she has renamed herself Dot Signifier and begun the mammoth task of collecting .sig files from the news groups and her many e-correspondants. (She's undoubtably got yours by now.) These she intends to compile into a *hand-written* book. She has recently got into font editing and will bring out her own font CD next year.

Nowdays she shaves her head and wears a sideways baseball hat on which she prints slogans. Her favourite is to take a slogan that she has seen on T-shirts and other clothes and to create anagrams using it. She sells these designs through her own Dysexlic label. You might have seen Madonna wearing her infamous HECLFE ISO socks.
