Dicky John Edwards

the artist

Dickey Edwards is 7 ft 9 and weighs 2 stone.

He is quite famouse for his thick chest length red beard and long red locks. He has a sun-dappled skin, and his strong hands have the sinewy look of a farm worker, which is where he started his career.

He recently won a Life-Time achievement award at the Grammies, making headlines when he nonchalantly threw it over his shoulder saying he doesn't want any award that Michael Jackson can win.
He sites his influences as:
Alice Cooper
Cher
Barbara Streisand
Billy Idol
Metalica
And Tom Jones.

the art

Dickey has created a cross between country and western and heavy metal music. His songs are as varied in their structure as his clothing (leather jacket and blue jeans with biker boots and a chain around his head).

Quoting his first hit single, the skeletall cowboy:
Mellow
So I'll be riding off into the sunset...
like Clint Eastwood or John Wayne,
HARD
Throtling my harley to the red !!!!!
Let it burn me as I sit there, and I revell in the Pain

the beret

As a younger man, Dickey was a US a Marine, fighting in vietnam as one of a very elite squadron of special forces soldiers. He still wears his old Green Beret whenever he performs. He states that a lot of his songs are expressions of the psychologicall trauma he suffered in the war, and it is therefore fitting to sing them in his symbol of this battle.

Dickey John Edwards' new CD "My trusty steed got herpes" is now available at really bad cd-shops and hardware stores countrywide.
